Membership of the FMI is not limited to Irish furniture manufacturers. It is also open to organisations that are associated to the trade. If you supply the wood and furniture trade in any way, you are eligible to apply to join FMI as an associate member. Associate membership is also open to furniture retailers and ancillary organisations to the trade and will get many of the ‘preferential benefits’ referred to above

Associate Membership of  Furniture Manufacturers Ireland

Associate members are given preferential status for referrals when suppliers are sought. Associate membership is also open to ancillary organisations to the trade such as lighting or other companies involved in homeware.

Preferential Status

As an associate member, you can use the FMI logo on your website, letterheads or any promotional and marketing material about your business.

The logo is a sign that you are directly associated with the trade association and it will give you credibility and all the benefits outlined here when compared with non-members.

It will also afford those businesses that already have a website or platform for the sale of their goods to link with the website.

Online Presence

Not all companies have an online presence. In a world where online retailing is fundamentally necessary to access national and international markets a dedicated website will provide FMI members the opportunity to increase sales, by displaying their products in one location.

Linkages with College's, Training Providers and Student Membership

Education and Training has been identified as one of the key weaknesses undermining the wood and furniture industry in Ireland. GMIT Letterfrack Training College provides training at 7th, 8th and 9th degree courses whilst other local institutes such as Cavan Institute provide level 5 and 6 courses.

There is also a weakness in the range and type of apprenticeship courses provided. The FMI will work with education and training providers and provide better linkages with industry so that training provided meets the needs of industry and its members
